Africa-Press – Kenya. The second edition of the Kisii Kenya Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Chairman’s Cup will be held on July 30 at Tendere grounds in Kisii County.
The tournament is organised by Kisii County Kuppet chairman Laban Bosire and will feature teachers from all 11 sub-counties. The event will feature soccer, volleyball, netball, darts, chess, draught, scrabble, tug of war, and the 4x400m relay.
Bosire added: “This tournament is basically aimed at bringing teachers together to bond, share experiences, make friends, expand networks and keep fit.”
Kisii Scribes FC, a team comprising Kisii-based journalists, will feature as guests. Kisii Scribes captain Job Ongaga said his charges are ready to face the teachers.
“We founded this team in April with the aim of keeping fit and enhancing cohesion among colleagues. We have engaged in some friendly matches and we shall intensify preparations ahead of the tournament. I want to thank the organizing committee for accepting our request to feature as a guest team,” said Ongaga.
According to the Organizing Committee’s communications officer, Bukkie Onduso, the group stage will be played on July 30 while the knock-out stage will be held at Kisii School on September 17. The play-off and finals are scheduled for October 10.
