Africa-Press – Kenya. Busia flag bearers Harvest of Hope Africa (Hoha) FC will take on Football Kenya Federation (FKF) side, Ulinzi Stars in the Mozzart Bet Cup round of 32 at Mumias Sports Complex on Sunday.
The match would have been played in Busia, but the lack of a modern stadium forced organisers to move it to Mumias with Hoha playing as the home team.
Hoha, from Matayos constituency, is currently ranked second in FKF Division II league Zone ‘A’ with 17 points—six points behind leaders Soy United.
Head coach Nicholas Okulaba said they were ready for the soldiers. He exuded confidence that they will pull a major upset.
Okulaba said he will bank on Josky Onyango, Edwin Karani, and Charles Okwii to deliver on the day.
FKF Busia branch chairman Hillary Musundi backed Hoha to pull an upset against Ulinzi who held Gor Mahia to a barren draw in league match. He urged fans to turn up in large numbers and cheer up the Busia team.
They include 14 FKF Premier League clubs, six FKF National Super League clubs, four FKF Division One clubs, and 14 Division II and regional clubs.
There are six match-ups in this preliminary round thus: Vegpro vs Kenya Police, Wisdom Academy vs Posta Rangers, Al Azizia vs Luanda Villa, Eldoro Sports Club Villa vs Mombasa Stars, Marafiki vs FC Talanta, and Bungoma Stars vs Bandari.
The winners will play each other in the round of 32 action, set to kick off this weekend.
The winners of the Mozzart Bet Cup will represent Kenya in the CAF Confederations Cup and get a Sh2 million cash award.
