Africa-Press – Kenya. Felix Orinda known to many as DJ Evolve on Tuesday, June 8, spoke out following rumours on social media that he had passed on following an injury that he got from a gunshot wound in January 2020.
His brother Andrew Orinda shot a video of the lively and upbeat dj in a bid to demystify the rumours.
“Hello. For all those who are saying DJ Evolve is dead…,” he stated before turning the camera to the spinmaster.
“Who is dead?” Evolve posed in a whisper and amid smiles.
Andrew maintained that the entertainer was recuperating well at their home in Fedha estate.
“God forbid, those are very dangerous rumours and I can assure you that he is okay and even having lunch,” he had earlier stated.
His sentiments were backed by those of his father John Orinda, who stated that he was shocked to learn about the hearsay after getting many calls to confirm on the same.
“It is a lie. I have been called and been asked whether it is true and I was so shocked but I want to clarify that is false,” John stated.
The entertainer has been bedridden since he was shot at while at work in January 2020.
For months, he was receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital before he was finally discharged.
Following the shooting, Embakasi MP Babu Owino was arrested by detectives after he was accused of shooting Evolve at B Club located along Galana Road within Kilimani.
On January 27,2020, the legislator was granted a cash bail of Ksh10 million, which he was asked to pay in four instalments over a four-month period.
He would later be realised after he finalised the payment.
