Ex-CJ Willy Mutunga Mobilises Kenyans to Build New House for Boniface Mwangi

Africa-PressKenya. Former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga on Thursday, October 21, rallied Kenyans to contribute and help political activist Boniface Mwangi rebuild his house.

This is after Mwangi’s house was allegedly blown up in the night of Wednesday, October 20, by unknown assailants.

In his statement, Mutunga noted that rebuilding the house will go a long way in shaming the perpetrators.

“I appeal to Kenyans who value humanity to help me and others to rebuild Boniface Mwangi’s house to shame those who sponsored the inhuman, cruel, and satanic act of blowing up Mwangi’s house,” Mutunga wrote on his Twitter.

At the same time, the former Chief Justice stated that he was mobilizing his own investigators to handle the matter.

On Wednesday evening, Mwangi explained that his house in Athi River, Machakos County, was under attack.

He noted that the house was still under construction when suspected thugs sank its foundation using explosives before robbing the construction workers.

“I’m not a criminal. I don’t do deals. I have never compromised my values. The state has blown up the house my family was building. The bullets, the explosives they used are on the scene. So what kind of a country are we living in?” he questioned.

The National Police Service (NPS) confirmed they had received a formal complaint.

Police stated that they were informed by witnesses at the site that three men in a white pickup truck had ambushed them at the construction site in Kinanie, Machakos County.

The police revealed that there were three attackers who robbed construction workers at gunpoint before detonating explosives at the building.
