Africa-Press – Kenya. Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said he will do what it takes to end President William Ruto’s term in 2027.
He said this is the only way to save Kenyans from the high cost of living.
Kalonzo said the situation has been made worse by the high taxes imposed by the Kenya Kwanza government.
Some of the taxes include the housing levy that became effective on March 19.
Kalonzo said many Kenyans, such as teachers, who are going on retirement, might never benefit from it.
He spoke on Wednesday at a funeral in Kyamuthei, Makueni county.
Kalonzo said the affordable housing project is in full of contradiction of public land management and that as the opposition they will not support the agenda.
He said that the government, through elected leaders, is dishing so much money to buy loyalty from Kenyans.
“Kenya is back to the Harambee times against Chapter Six of the Constitution. Government is pouring your own money to lure you,” the Wiper leader said.
He accused Kibwezi MP Mwengi Mutuse of ferrying people to events with public funds.
“If Mwengi gives you money, eat and ask for more its your money you need to use it,” Kalonzo said.
Kaiti MP Joshua Kimilu said urged the government to respect the Constitution and allow Kenyans to freely express themselves.
“No one denied the President freedom of speech when he was vying therefore, he should let Kalonzo be,” he said.
