Africa-Press – Kenya. Wiper leader and Azimo co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has admitted to meeting foreign envoys on Friday.
Kalonzo who was speaking during an Azimio briefing at the SKM Command Centre on Saturday, acknowledged that various envoys including the US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman paid him a visit at his Karen home.
Kalonzo however failed to disclose the discussions and the outcome of the meeting, saying they had agreed not to address the media.
“Ambassadors, actually four of them; the US Ambassador Meg Whitman, the British chargé and the Danish Ambassador as well as the representative of the British community in Nairobi, in fact, UN officers, very high ranking, came over to my residence and we agreed we will not at this stage address the media,” Kalonzo said.
He however said they were concerned about the current situation which has been witnessed in the country due to the ongoing protests.
“Of course, they are very concerned not just them as ambassadors but the international community; the story of peaceful demonstrations turned violent by the police have received international visibility,” he added.
Kalonzo further disclosed there is a plan to meet international correspondents in the coming days to address the matter.
