Africa-PressKenya. Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has defended Deputy President William Ruto following the government’s move to downscale his security.

The former Vice President told a church service that security and right to life is unnegotiable and the government should do everything to ensure all Kenyans is secured.

“Everybody is guaranteed security and right to life is non-negotiable. Let us not cross the redline,” Kalonzo said.

He added, “As a nation we cannot go back to the days when we hear of political assassinations.”

Kalonzo, who was speaking during a church service at Redeemed Gospel Church, Pipeline, also chided the DP over a 2018 remarks he made when the Cord was protesting against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

The Wiper leader recalled a 2018 Ruto’s Ukambani remark that he (DP) saw the ex-VP sitted on the tarmac.

“One time during a mock swearing, our security were all withdrawn and when Ruto visited my backyard he was telling them that he saw me last sitted on the tarmac. Welcome to Kenya,” he said.

Kalonzo on Wednesday walked to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters on Kiambu Road, Nairobi , over a land in Yatta, Machakos county.

He said he opted to present himself at DCI to clear his name following accusations by Ruto that he grabbed the land from the National Youth Service.

Kalonzo said his character was assassinated by the DP’s claims and threatened to take legal action against him.

He asked the DP to resign if he has a conscience.
