Africa-Press – Kenya. Azimio presidential running mate Martha Karua has attended the inauguration of Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga.
The ceremony was held at Homa Bay Stadium on Thursday.
Other 45 governors are also set to take an oath of office on Thursday.
Wanga was decleared winner after garnering 244,559 votes flooring her close competitor Evans Kidero, who came in second with 154,182 votes.
She will be the first female governor of Homa Bay as she succeeds Cyprian Awiti
Wanga has served the county as the Woman Representative for one term, having been elected in 2017.
The governor contested on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket.
