Africa-Press – Kenya. The war, which escalated on the 28th of February, led to the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Iranian leader.
Retaliatory strikes from Iran, targeting U.S. strongholds in the Middle East as well as Israel itself, followed, prompting reactions from global leaders, including Kenyan President William Ruto.
While William Ruto decided to stick to the neutral stance he has held since the conflict began, a viral post on social media showed the Kenyan police force taking a different approach.
Per the post, which went viral on social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja expressed readiness to go to war.
“Police IG Kanja assures Kenyans that they are safe from USA, Israel Iran attacks, as Kenya Police is ready for war!” the post claimed, as seen on Tuko.
However, the official handle of the police department moved to debunk this headline, noting that the news did not originate from the Inspector General or the service.
