Africa-Press – Kenya. Kimintet residents in Narok, have demonstrated along the Kimintet road over what they term forceful demarcations. Group leader Philip Ndaradha said further land subdivisions should be put on hold.

They said at least 600 to 1000 families are directly affected by the ongoing land adjudications. Ndarasha said already impunity is in its detail saying there are gravely insufficient consultations sparking the forceful demarcations.

“This too must be addressed if a durable solution is to be found. As a resident I confirm that have not been involved in this,” he said.

“The earlier this issue is addressed, the better. Otherwise, we are sitting on a ticking time bomb.” The residents now want the government to suspend any further land subdivisions until all proper consultations are done.

“For now, however, people want a peaceful and amicable solution which can help to stop the eruption of ugly confrontations,” Ndarasha said.

Daniel Kinandat, another resident said further confusion in the adjudications should be stopped. Dalmas Kishoi asked the Land Cabinet Secretary and the President to come to their aid. Kimintet MCA Samuel Ole Wendayi who joined the protesters said residents would decide the fate of their land.
