Africa-Press – Kenya. Nandi Bears’ Nelson Koech has shifted his training base to Kakamega golf club ahead of this weekends Kenya Amateur Golf Championships at the same venue. Koech who won the title in 2021, has set his eyes on reclaiming the title that he lost last year to John Lejirma.

Koech said training at the par 72 course will help him to farmiliarise with the course ahead of the three-day tournament that tees off on Friday to Sunday.

“I failed to defend my title last year but right now, I am training well. The aim is to ensure that I reclaim the title. I want to farmiliarise with the course before the tournament serves off,” Koech said.

He added that the tournament is being played closer home and it will be better to record impressive results. “We have to play well to ensure we register good results. Nothing to worry about since we have played in other venues like Nakuru, Kitale among others,” he said.
