Africa-Press – Kenya. Kenya Ports Authority recorded their opening victory against Cameroon’s CSV in straight sets as the men’s African Volleyball Club Championships serve off in Tunisia.

The Sammy Mulinge-coached side was peerless in their quest for a maiden continental crown after claiming the first set 25-16. KPA, who were last season’s runner-up in the Kenya Volleyball Federation league, made it 2-0 courtesy of a 25-21 second set win.

KPA bagged the last set 25-19 to mark a dream start to this year’s edition where Tunisia is hosting the championships for a third year running. The North African nation successfully hosted the event in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

This is KPA’s third year in a row in the assignment. The coastal side have finished fifth in the last two editions and Mulinge said his charges have what it takes to make it to the podium.
