Matiang’i Announces Jubilee Offices in Kiambu Wards

Africa-Press – Kenya. Jubilee Deputy Party Leader Fred Matiang’i has announced an ambitious grassroots expansion plan, saying the party will establish offices in every ward across Kiambu County as part of efforts to strengthen its presence and reconnect with citizens.

Speaking during the spearheading launch of a Jubilee Party office in Gatundu South, Kiambu on Friday, Matiang’i said the party was committed to rebuilding its organisational structure from the grassroots, beginning with Kiambu, which he described as a historic stronghold of the party.

“We have come here today to open our Jubilee office in this ward,” Matiang’i said.

“I thank our local leaders here. We have started going through every ward. We want Kiambu to be the starting point.”

He emphasised that the party’s strategy is to ensure that every ward has a functional Jubilee office that serves as a meeting point between leaders and residents.

According to him, the initiative is aimed at improving engagement with citizens and strengthening political coordination at the local level.

“We hope to have every ward in Kiambu have our Jubilee office so that we have somewhere to meet with citizens and other leaders,” he said.

Matiang’i also underscored the symbolic importance of Kiambu to the Jubilee Party, noting that the region is closely linked to the party’s founding history and leadership.

“As you know, Kiambu is the home of our party leader, His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta. Jubilee was born here and we have come home,” he said.

He further stated that the party’s revival efforts are anchored in its original vision and leadership legacy, expressing confidence that Jubilee will regain its political strength through structured grassroots mobilisation.

“I am happy today that, in God’s grace, I have entered the first office which (former) President Uhuru Kenyatta started,” Matiang’i said.

“We have started this journey the way he started, until State House, and we will take this journey the same way Uhuru took it to State House.”

The Deputy Party Leader called for unity and calm among supporters, stressing that Jubilee remains a peaceful political organisation committed to non-confrontational politics.

“I thank all of you. Let’s be peaceful. Jubilee is a peaceful party and we don’t have a problem with anyone,” he said.

The launch marks part of a broader effort by the party to rebuild its organisational structures after a period of internal challenges and shifting political alliances.

Matiang’i’s sentiments also signal an attempt to reconnect the party with its founding identity, while reinforcing its presence in regions considered politically significant to its leadership.

His remarks comes a month after he announced plans to establish offices in all 47 counties as part of a nationwide effort to revive the outfit ahead of 2027 general elections.
