Africa-Press – Kenya. Moi Air Base (MAB) shut down Snipers 81-75 in a tight Kenya National Basketball League (KNBL) Division One match at Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium on Saturday.
The winners raced to a 28-20 lead in the first quarter before trailing 22-21 at the end of a high-scoring first half.
After the breather, MAB surged ahead 23-18 in the third stanza before Snipers took over the proceedings in the last with a 15-9 edge.
Ron Odhiambo provided 21 points and Dennis Letting 19 for the winners. Brand Nzoka tallied 25 points and Julius Odhiambo 13 for the losers. Brian Omondi registered the last four points from the line that ensured Mustangs beat Strathmore University 65-61.
Michael Odera connected for 22 points while Omondi tallied a total of 17 for Mustangs. Little Prince took a 20-6 half-time lead and maintained the tempo to thrash Hope 67-34. Brian Kikubo posted 19 points.
In the only ladies fixture of the day, Scarlets were too much for Coastal Queens, winning 64-42. Henri Desire poured in 21 points for Scarlets while Linet Nelima buried 11 for the coastal side who trailed 25-19 at the break.
