Muslim leaders call for government reforms, accountability

Africa-Press – Kenya. Muslim leaders have called on the government to undertake significant reforms aimed at restoring integrity and efficiency within the public sector.

Speaking on Thursday during a press briefing, the leaders outlined a comprehensive set of actions they believe are essential for the country’s progress and the well-being of its citizens.

The key action they proposed is that the President should trim down the size of the Cabinet to 14.

“Ruto should trim down the cabinet and government in general of those functionaries named in corruption, waste, fraud and abuse of public resources,” they said.

They stated that the IEBC should be immediately reconstituted.

The Muslim leaders urged the president to undertake and facilitate the audit of public debt, enabling public participation in an inclusive, transparent and accountable manner.

They also urged the president to provide leadership for the prosecution of corrupt individuals at all levels of government.

“Kenyans need to see heads rolling,” they added.

They added that Ruto should remove all unconstitutional offices.
