Africa-Press – Kenya. The body of the late President Emilio Mwai Kibaki will leave the Lee Funeral Home at exactly 7 am and is expected to arrive at Othaya, Nyeri County by 10 am.

The body will be transported by road in accordance with Kibaki’s wishes.

Kibaki’s burial service will begin from 10 am to 1 pm.

The service will be led by the Catholic church.

Archbishop Anthony Muheria is likely to lead the service given that it is his area of jurisdiction.

Between 1o am to 1 pm, the catholic church will lead the holy mass which will include a prayer to the family, final blessings eulogy and tributes.

From 3 pm to 4 pm, an interment ceremony will be held which will include final rites at the graveside, the state funeral procession, military honours complete with 19 gun salutes, the committal prayer, interment, musical tribute and floral tribute.

The gun salute is in honour of his role as a five star general and the commander in chief of Kenya’s defence forces.

After the body will be lowered to the grave, President Uhuru Kenyatta will lead a minute of silence in honour of the late.

He will not be buried with the National flag. The flag will be handed to the family after he is laid to rest.

All this will happen at the president’s Othaya home
