President William Ruto on Monday presided over the floating of MV Uhuru II, a locally assembled ship, at Lake Victoria.

MV Uhuru II was constructed at Kisumu shipyard to complement MV Uhuru I.

This is in response to the emerging increase in demand for transportation of goods through the lake transport by the regional countries.

Ruto was accompanied by his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua and other government officials.
