Police urge Kenyans to maintain peace after Supreme Court ruling

Africa-Press – Kenya. The National Police Service (NPS) has called on Kenyans to maintain peace, after the Supreme Court rendered its judgment on the presidential election petition.

The seven-judge bench led by Chief Justice Martha Koome on Monday upheld Ruto’s August 9 win.

Police spokesperson Bruno Shiosi said Kenyans should respect the outcome of the judgment.

“The police will continue to provide round-the-clock security, and further, the acting Inspector general of police assures the public of their personal safety and security of their properties,” Shioso said.

He called on Kenyans to be calm and cooperate with the police as they discharge their duties.

Shioso warned that violation of the law will not be tolerated.

“Let us all maintain peace that we cherish,” he said.
