Reject politics of deceit - Kabando tells President Suluhu

Africa-Press – Kenya. Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando has asked Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu to take caution in the event she mediates the ongoing stalemate in the country.

In a statement on Wednesday, Kabando asked Suluhu not to be roped into politics of deceit.

He urged her to advise President William Ruto and Opposition Chief Raila Odinga to centre their talks around public welfare, in the case that they seek her to mediate.

“Kwa Rais Suluhu Samia: kwa heshima kuu, twakusihi ujihadhari na utapeli wa siasa zetu. Iwapo Ruto na Raila wanapitia kwako ndiposa wajadiliane yanayotuhusu, washauri iwe ni mazungumzo ya ukweli, bayana. Si Ubinafsi, Ukabila, Utapeli, Ufisadi kutawala,” he said.

“Mama, twakupenda twakuenzi.”

His statement comes amid Ruto’s visit to Tanzania to meet Suluhu.

He left for the visit following claims that he had snubbed her while she was in Kenya for two days, two weeks ago.

On Tuesday, Raila claimed that Suluhu came to mediate over the bi-partisan talks with the Kenya Kwanza faction but was left hanging.

“She was kept waiting. We were available but the other faction was not available. Suluhu spent two nights here but it was all in vain,” Raila said while addressing the international media on the crisis the country is currently in.

Earlier on Wednesday however, State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed said there was no official invitation to the Tanzanian President.

He noted that for every president who visits the country, there are established protocols handled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Hio ingine, ndugu yangu, aliyesema alikua hapa, (Those other allegations, my brother, the one who said she was here) I think that that is the best person to address that question,” Mohamed said.

Before he left for Tanzania on Wednesday, Ruto invited Raila for talks at his convenience.

“My friend Raila Odinga, I’m off to Tanzania for a human capital meeting to harmonise the expansion of employment opportunities in our continent. I’m back tomorrow evening, and as you have always known, I’m available to meet one on one with you anytime at your convenience. WsR,” Ruto said in a tweet.
