Ruto meets senior officials of Japan Bank for International Cooperation

Africa-Press – Kenya. President William Ruto on Thursday hosted the top leadership of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).

The team, led by the Governor of the JBIC, Hayashi Nobumitsu hosted Ruto who is currently on a four-day official visit to the East Asia country.

In a statement after the meeting, the President said the JBIC is keen to finance investment in the energy and Information Communication and Technology sectors, among others.

Ruto said that he also urged them to invest in the agriculture and manufacturing sectors to help create jobs for Kenyans.

“Kenya is glad that the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) is keen to finance investment in our strategic projects, including energy and ICT.

“We are encouraging them to put more emphasis on investment in our manufacturing, industrial and agricultural value chains that will create jobs for our youth,” the head of state said on X.
