Africa-Press – Kenya. President-elect William Ruto’s Senior counsel Kioko Kilukumi has distanced himself from a Twitter account that has been making posts on the August 9 General Elections.

The senior counsel confirmed to the Star that he is not on Twitter and the account bearing his name is a parody.

“I am not on Twitter,” Kilukumi said .

The fake Twitter account had posted on Monday that they will respond to the 47 boxes of documents presented by Azimio to the Supreme Court registry “in just one two-page booklet”

The account with 1,358 followers has been tweeting that ‘Raila Odinga is being lied to by power cartels’ among other things.

It has also been making commentaries on the presidential commentaries being filed at the apex court.

The account is identified as Senior Criminal Lawyer, an advocate of the High court of Kenya.

Early this year, Kilukumi was sworn as the Chairperson of Energy and Petroleum Tribunal in a ceremony presided over by the Deputy Chief Registrar of Judiciary Paul Maina.

Kilukumi graduated with a law degree from the University of Nairobi in 1990.

Between 1990 and 1993, he worked with Kaplan and Straton Advocates.

Kilukumi left the law firm in 1993 following his appointment as a Public Prosecutor in the Kingdom of Swaziland.

He returned to Kenya in 1996 and went into private legal practice.

Some of the prominent cases handled by Kilukumi include an appeal by businessman Jon Cardon Wagner who was convicted of defiling three minors.

In the appeal, Wagner said he had filed 50 grounds as he seeks to overturn the verdict.

Kilukumi was also one of the defence lawyers in the Sh5.8 billion Goldenberg scam case against three former top civil servants.

He represented Internal Security minister the late Prof George Saitoti in an election petition filed against him by Moses ole Sakuda.

Kilukumi was also one of the defence lawyers in the Sh96 million fraud case against president-elect Ruto and seven others back in 201o.
