Africa-PressKenya. Newly electedNational Super League side Shabana FC officials have promised to return the club to glory days.

Led by new chairman Nyandoro Kambi, the new office has promised a fresh start following their election last weekend. In his maiden speech, Kambi said they have already started signing new players.

“The technical bench has identified about 10 players who are on their way to Kisii. We expect them to join other teammates at Nyanchwa for training as from Wednesday,” said Kambi, who took over from Jared Nivaton who did not defend his seat.

“The new office is meeting this weekend to lay strategies ahaed of the season,” he said.

Others officials who were elected are—Wycliffe Ayienda (vice chairman), Mohsin Khan (2nd vice chairman), Elizaphan Kerama (secretary general), Evans Kibagendi (vice secretary), Bosire Anyoka (treasurer), Selina Nyaboke (vice treasurer), Stephen Kiama (organizing secretary) and Violet Momanyi (public relations officer).

Wilfred Riang’a, Albert Ocharo and Simon Oriosa were elected committee members.

Kambi vowed to help the club return to the Kenya Premier League and appealed to the Kisii County Government to hasten the completion of Simeon Nyachae Stadium in Kisii.

In the just concluded season, Shabana played their home matches at Migori Stadium, Sony in Awendo, Kericho and Narok. “It is very expensive to play our home matches away,” he said.

The Kisii county government is currently laying artificial turf on the track while the national government will re-do the playing ground.
