Africa-Press – Kenya. Shujaa dropped to the classification category of the Cape Town Sevens following a 31-5 loss to New Zealand on Saturday.
Kenya lost their opening match on Friday 29-5 to Argentina and had to win the match against the Kiwis to give them a chance of qualification to the Main Cup quarters.
A competitive first half saw Kenya matching the All Blacks Sevens with Billy Odhiambo leveling matters after Akulia Rokolisoa had given the opponents the lead with a well-taken try and conversion for a 7-5 lead at the interval.
On resumption, Shujaa fell apart as the slick Kiwis took control —running four tries to seal the win. Roderick Solo, Moses Leo, Brady Rush and Caleb Tangitau crossed the whitewash with Rokolisoa adding two conversions to seal the win.
Shujaa drew their final match with Spain 5-5 and will face Ireland Sunday at 10:56 am in the classification matches.
