Africa-Press – Kenya. Zetech University Sparks thrashed Eagle Wings 95-40 in a Kenya National Basketball League women’s clash at Nyayo Stadium gymnasium.
The win saw Sparks leapfrog both Equity Bank Hawks and Storms into second place with 19 points. The two are joint-third on 18 points, alongside Africa Nazarene Univetsity.
Chantal Kiyobe scored the game opener for Sparks, who went on to lead 27-9 in the first quarter and 22-3 in the second.
Eagle Wings, who are tenth, had little to offer and despite their 18-15 last quarter charge, it did little to help their course.
ANU ‘Panthers’ clobbered Kenyatta University ‘Oryx’ 70-48 after coming from a 31-28 half time deficit.
The victory against the bottom side, moved Mike Oluoch’s charges to18 points from six wins.
In a men’s Division One match, Neosasa Morans beat Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) University 48-41.
The women’s Division One tie saw Zetech University Development thump KCA University 71-30 to move the top of the table with 21 points, same as Strathmore University.
Multi Media University (MMU) pipped Footprints 35-33 in another match.
