Africa-Press – Kenya. Former Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura has said that President William Ruto’s government has not failed because the 100 days are not yet over. He said that Kenyans cannot expect the government to be 100 per cent but they cannot also accept failure since it has not happened.
Speaking on Wednesday, Mwaura said the opposition needs to be loyal and not engage in reactional communication. “The opposition is engaging in reactional communication where you say something, they want to be oppositional,” he said.
Mwaura said the opposition is also finding its footing and have not yet grasped how to criticise the government. The former senator said the Kenya Kwanza government inherited an insolvent economy and therefore it is early to call them out.
“To be fair to all of us, I think now it is too early to call,” he said Azimio leader Raila Odinga said the Kenya Kwanza government is slow in fulfilling its pledges.
“During the campaigns, they promised the price of maize flour and fuel would go down. Has it gone down? I told you all this was meaningless talk. They were telling lies,” Raila said. The ODM leader said he will oversight the government and ensure that services are delivered.
