President William Ruto will from from Saturday embark on a five-day working tour of the entire Mt Kenya region where he is expected to launch a number of development projects.

State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed on Friday highlighted the projects which he said are in line with the Bottom-Up Economic Agenda.

Projects to be commissioned include the Githurai Water Supply Project, which will benefit 500,000 residents and connect 8,400 people to clean and safe water.

Ruto will also commission the redevelopment of Githurai Market which is part of his commitment to build 400 markets in three years to dignify Mama Mboga’s hustles.

Next in line will be the commissioning of the Kagio water supply project in Kagio Town, Kirinyaga County, and the upgraded 42.5km Marua-Kwa Wambui Road.

The above will all take place on Saturday.

Last to be commissioned on the list is the Kaigonji water project and the Othaya water project, which will benefit 60,000 people with 216 new sewer connections.

The President will thereafter open the Nyeri Stage and Bus Park whose construction was aimed at easing congestion in the town. All these will be on Monday.

Also featuring in the President’s itinerary is the opening of a three-storeyed, 175-bed capacity Level IV Hospital in Naromoru as well as opening of a new KCC facility in Kiganjo on Tuesday.

Projects to be launched include the upgrading to bitumen standards and maintenance of the 45km Ichamara – Kariti road in Mukurweini, Nyeri county.

Ruto will also witness the groundbreaking of the Gichugu Affordable Housing Programme in Kirinyaga county which entails the construction of 140 housing units.

The project is part of the 200 units per constituency programme under the affordable housing project programme being rolled countrywide.

The President will also preside over the groundbreaking of the housing project in Thika, Kiambu County on Wednesday.

The project will provide 975 housing units 20 per cent of which will be reserved for civil servants.

Besides the commissioning and launching of new projects, the President will also chair a Cabinet meeting at Sagana State Lodge and host a regional leaders conference at the same venue on Tuesday.
