Africa-Press – Kenya. Three Kakamega Azimio governors have pledged to support President William Ruto. The three include Kakamega’s Fernandez Barasa, Vihiga’s Wilber Ottichilo and Trans Nzoia’s George Natembeya.

The three county chiefs spoke on Thursday when they received the President at Kakamega State Lodge. They said politics were now over and now they intend to work with the government of the day to bring development for their people.

“We want to welcome you to Kakamega as our president. We want to put behind politics and focus on development. I invite you to also tour our referral hospital and see what you can do for us,” Barasa said. Ruto will preside over the Masinde Muliro University graduation ceremony tomorrow.

“We have shelved politics and decided to work together with President William Ruto to attract development in this region. We also request the president to take over Kaimosi University as the chancellor,” Ottichilo said.

Natembeya decried the poverty in Western, saying people are suffering and it was only Ruto who can save the situation. “Regardless of where we voted we have only one President William Ruto and we are all behind him,” Natembeya said.

“Help us revamp the sugar and maize industry because there is a lot of poverty in the Western region.”
