Africa-Press – Kenya. President William Ruto has urged Cabinet Secretaries to formulate and package government programmes into investment opportunities.
Ruto said that the leaders have to use other means of driving the government agenda apart from public resources.
Speaking on Friday during the CSs retreat in Nanyuki, Ruto said that the private sector should be involved in investing in government programs.
“The government approach is that we must be creative and innovative. There are areas we don’t have to use public resources to drive the government agenda. Bring on board the private sector to partner with the government,” he said.
He added that Kenyans should embrace technology to help in tax collection.
The meeting brings together cabinet secretaries, presidential advisers, and principal secretaries.
The five-day retreat began on January 5.
The retreat is reviewing the steps the Kenya Kwanza administration has made in 100 days since assuming office and will plan ahead.
