Africa-Press – Kenya. Two children have died in a fire that razed their house in Uthiru. The two children were said to have been locked inside the house when residents came to rescue belongings in the house.
However, the police are yet to establish the true cause of the fire and whether the children had been locked inside the house and if the fire started deliberately.
Unfortunately, little was salvaged from the fire as residents say the iron-sheet house was already consumed by fire. Kabete subcounty commander Joseph Muriuki confirmed the incident on Tuesday.
“We are yet to confirm the cause of the fire but detectives will be investigating the case to find out what happened,” he said.
Another child was also hospitalised following a fire at their Wangige house in Kiambu county. Muriuki said investigations are also ongoing in the case.
