Africa-Press – Kenya. President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent his best wishes to all Jubilee candidates ahead of Tuesday’s elections.

“Election day is just a day away. You have conquered it all and the time is here. I wish you all the best and a resounding victory in the upcoming elections,” he said.

In his capacity as the party leader, the President also thanked the members for raising the Jubilee Party flag high.

“Thank you for your unwavering support and for raising the Jubilee Party flag high. God bless you, God bless Kenya,” Uhuru added.

In February this year, President Uhuru’s term as Jubilee party leader was extended for another five years.

This means that the president will be actively involved in the August 2022 general election.

The move to extend Uhuru’s term was a culmination of events that saw Deputy President William Ruto kicked out as the deputy party leader.

The new national officials were also picked to drive the party’s agenda.

They include Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni who took over from Raphael Tuju as secretary-general.

Powerful Jubilee honcho David Murathe was retained as the deputy vice-chairman under Nelson Nzuya.

Kitutu chache North MP Jimmy Angwenyi is one of the four Jubilee deputy party leaders.

Others were Katobu Ngatobu, Naomi Shaban and Peter Mositet.

Kieni MP Kanini Kega is the Jubilee party director of elections.
