Africa-Press – Kenya. Former Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has said that President William Ruto cannot run the government on a vendetta. According to Wamalwa, the Ruto-led government administration should let the former president be.
He claimed that the Head of State has hatred towards his predecessor and his mother Mama Ngina Kenyatta. “We have seen Ruto showing that he has hatred in his heart against Uhuru Kenyatta. He has hatred against Mama Ngina and we are saying you cannot run a country on a vendetta,” Wamalwa said during a rally in Busia.
“You cannot run a country on vengeance, you cannot run a country on vindictiveness. Leave Uhuru Kenyatta alone.”
His remarks were in response to Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi who assured Kenyans that the president was not after revenge and that he was not going after former officials who opposed his candidature.
“The President did not win by selling revenge. He sold an agenda to transform this country,” Mudavadi said in Nakuru.
“The evil things that were visited on Ruto do not define his agenda. He has gone above that and he is now focused on growing this country.” Wamalwa insisted that vengeance is not something that one writes, but that it lives in one’s heart.
“Nimeskia wakisema eti vengeance is not in their Kenya kwanza manifesto. Vengeance is never written. vengeance is in the heart. I want brother Musalia to go read the book of Matthew 12:34 which says, what the mouth speaks what the heart is full of,” the former CS said.
Matthew 12:34 (You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.)
During campaigns, the side branded Ruto as a vengeful man.
