AfricaPress-Kenya: AFC Leopards have joined the nation in mourning TV star Charles Bukeko aka Papa Shirandula.
According to the family, Shirandula, who was widely regarded as one the AFC Leopard’s most loyal supporter, died at the Karen Hospital where he has been receiving treatment since Monday.
Left saddened by the news, the club said in a statement: “We are sad to learn about the sudden death of our super fan and member Charles Bukeko”
“Our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends . Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this trying moment. Rest In Peace PAPA SHIRANDULA”
Other Kenyan Premier League clubs and fans also paid their respects.
Amani National Congress leader and Former AFC Leopards patron Musalia Mudavadi also conveyed a message of condolence to the family of veteran TV actor.
“My sincere condolences to the family of Charles Bukeko popularly known as Papa Shirandula upon his passing on today morning at Karen Hospital. May his soul rest in peace,” Mudavadi wrote on his Twitter.
Harambee Stars striker Michael Olunga also paid tribute to Shirandula.

Shirandula leaves behind a wife, Beatrice Ebbie Andega, and three children; Tony, Charlie and Wendy.
