Africa-Press – Lesotho. Former Kick4Life and Lesotho Football Association administrator Chris Bullock has ventured into player management after sitting and passing FIFA agents’ exams in April.

The Englishman, who spent nine-years working in the country at Kick4Life and LeFA before he moved to South Africa, says his goal is to set up a consultancy which can open doors for players from Lesotho to showcase talents beyond Lesotho’s borders without being exploited.

“As part of my vision and passion to use my experience of working in the football industry in Africa to contribute to growth of football in the continent, I felt this was one way to do that,” Bullock said.

“In my time working in club football in Lesotho, I realised that players often didn’t get opportunities to showcase their talent or were exploited by teams as they agreed to contracts that heavily favoured teams and I felt this was an opportunity to assist players with that.

Bullock said he first started a consultancy offering services to clubs, federations, and academies to help them build strategies, but later decided to take the FIFA agent examination through the Lesotho Football Association.

“I set up a consultancy in January offering services to clubs, federations and academies to help them build strategies, develop leaders and generally help them run their organisations professionally,” Bullock said.

“But the one area that I felt was missing from that was helping players and they play a very important role in the growth of football in the continent hence I took the FIFA agent exam in April and thankfully I passed to be licensed as a FIFA agent,” he said. He said his stable already boasts high profile players and coaches from both Lesotho and South Africa and is confident of getting more on board soon.

“I have completed one contract for a young player in Lesotho I’m working with and we were able to help him get a better deal and more importantly ensured that there were clauses in the contract that were unfavourable to the player taken out or amended, which to me is very important,” he said.

However, Bullock was not able to disclose some of his clients that are already being represented by his stable. “We have a number of players and few coaches in Lesotho and also players; male and female in South Africa as well as coaches from Africa and Europe, who all have good experience,” he said.
