Africa-Press – Lesotho. Dr Ouma Seebaluck’s painstakingly researched ‘Bollywood and its Global Impact’, was launched by eminent filmmaker and producer Mahesh Bhatt and international actor Rahul Vohra in Mumbai on 13th March (the day Indian films made it to the Oscars)! at a simple ceremony in the presence of professionals from different walks of life – from Bollywood to the film airlines industry, the literary and design world as well as officials from the Economic Development Board and MTPA.

The launch ceremony also commemorated the 55th Independence anniversary of Mauritius celebrated the day before as well as International Women’s Day, which fell on 8th March.

Mahesh Bhatt shared his experience of being born in a film-making family and his deep insight into the production of movies in India as well as the art of telling stories after an extremely informative introduction to Mauritius, Indian cinema, and aesthetics by Rahul Vohra, who also read excerpts from the book and talked extensively about Mauritian culture.

Mahesh Bhatt described the book as a must-have-reference-book for anyone who would like to study Indian cinema. He also congratulated Dr Seebaluck for the tremendous amount of research that has gone into the production of her book and her attention to detail.
