Africa-Press – Lesotho. As part of its mandate to empower girls with hygiene products for the learning environment to be conducive, the Ayanda Sutu Foundation handed over dignity kits to 58 adolescent

girls at Phomolong High School in Sekamaneng, Maseru yesterday. Speaking at the event, Ayanda Sutu Foundation Secretary, Pelaelo Mokuinihi disclosed that Ayanda is an

American resident whose parents were born and raised in Lesotho. With her Foundation, she aims to uplift girls with hygiene and sanitary products throughout their academic period.

She conveyed hope that the dignity kits will go a long way in helping young school girls. Mokuinihi further expressed gratitude to Phomolong High School and other schools for accepting their

request to distribute dignity kits to their students. Phomolong High School Principal, Nthabeleng Tsunyane said they are very grateful to receive the menstrual and general hygiene items intended to offer relief to young girls at

their school. She indicated that they have a lot of vulnerable girls at Phomolong High and sometimes they miss school while on their monthly periods. Tsunyane thanked the ongoing assistance the school receive from Ayanda

Foundation as she said last year they got the same help. On behalf of the beneficiaries, Ntoetsi Molapo thanked Ayanda Foundation for the dignity kits.

She indicated that they need supplementary hygiene items to provide necessary comfort to their daily lives and the kits will help relief them from the burden

of having to search for alternative items to maintain a dignified life. Ayanda Foundation handed over dignity kits consisting of sanitary pads, toothpastes, deodorants and bath

soap in Morija High school on Wednesday, Phomolong High School yesterday and will be in Lancer’s Gap High School today. One of the objectives of Ayanda Sutu Foundation is to make hygiene products available to the less privileged Basotho girls to mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually uplift learners.
