Africa-Press – Lesotho. As one of the massive teams in the Premier League, Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS) was in no doubt that they will eventually end their 2021/22 Vodacom Premier League (VPL) being among the “white-wash knockers”. LCS crushed Kick4Life 3-0 in their last game at LCS ground on Saturday, taking the home field advantage.
“Masheshena” as referred to, made their debut seen even though they were not crowned 2021/22 VPL Champions, but when it comes to the top goal scorer for the 2021/22 VPL season, they claimed the crown though their 3-0 win against Kick4Life and 5-0 against Lifofane within one week. The first two goals to prove being ‘top goal scorer’ were scored by their striker Makara Ntaitsane then after the second half Hlomelang Lebina scored a 3rd goal. Masheshena’s previous game with Lifofane made an assurance that even though Lifofane did manage to collect three points from VPL champions (Matlama), LCS will not be their next victims, more especially from a team that was still battling to escape relegation zone. LCS trashed Lifofane to the core with the score of 5-0
that eventually let Lifofane to sink deeper into relegation zone. In an interview with Informative Sport, LCS Head Coach Shalane Lehohla highlighted that the main reason behind them being top goal scorers was that every time the
ball was in their court, they made sure that they try their luck to score whereas when it was not on their side, they had to defend. “Every player who is in the first 11 crack with all his might to give the best
performance within the pitch,” he added. The best clean sheet scored goals for LCS in the 2021/22 VPL season were as follows; Sefotha-fotha 7-0, Lifofane 5-0, Swallows 5-0, Likhopo 6-0 and Kick4Life 3-0.
