Africa-Press – Lesotho. Nedbank Lesotho and Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) have signed a M250, 000 sponsorship deal for the A Division Top 8 Tournament scheduled for April and May 2022.
Addressing the media at the press conference on Tuesday Nedbank Lesotho Marketing Manager Sekonyela Matamane highlighted that football is one of the active sporting codes in the country and understand the significance of the sport to Basotho hence they went all out to support this tournament.
Matamane also commended LeFA for its efforts to organize the tournament despite their delay to announce the sponsorship. For his part, ADMACO Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mothusi Letsie highlighted that the tournament is no longer Top 8 but rather Nedbank 8 and Champ of Champs will be referred to as Nedbank Champions.
“The team on the fourth place will get M13 000, on third place M15 000, the runner ups M20 000 and the winners will receive M25 000 while the last four teams will each get M10 000,” he stated.
Letsie further indicated that there will be individual awards and trophies which will see the goalkeeper of the tournament, top goal scorer and the player of the tournament each receiving M2 000 and a trophy. He said the games are postponed to April 30 to allocate enough time for preparations, saying all participating teams will get the jersey.
