Africa-Press – Lesotho. A Free State Emergency medical service has confirmed that a pedestrian, believed to be a Lesotho national, was struck and killed by car in Bloemfontein in the Free State.

According to a statement from Trauma Response Africa Emergency Management & Incident Response, the incident took place late last night.

The victim was reportedly struck by a light motor vehicle on the N1 north, close to the Engen 1-Stop outside of Bloemfontein. The deceased is said to have died on the scene after sustaining multiple fatal injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was also assessed by paramedics and found not to have sustained any injuries. Meanwhile, whilst responding to the aforementioned incident, a light motor vehicle is alleged to have crashed into a stationary police vehicle on the N1 north.

“Paramedics and first responders from various services arrived on the scene to find the lifeless body of the man in the road. The scene was handed over to the SAPS for further investigation,” the statement reads.
