Africa-Press – Lesotho. The Right Honorable Prime Minister Ntsokoane Samuel Matekane is in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) where the World Governments Summit (WGS) convened under the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments.

This Summit brought together governments, international organizations, thought leaders, and private sector leaders from around the globe to foster international cooperation and identify innovative solutions for future challenges, ultimately inspiring and empowering the next generation of governments for better future.

The WGS 2026 brings together more than 60 heads of state and government and their deputies, with over 500 ministers, and representatives from more than 150 governments.

The Summit also hosts over 80 international and regional organizations and global institutions, alongside more than 700 chief executives of leading global corporations, with total participation exceeding 6,250 attendees.

The WGS is an annual event held since 2013 to bring together leaders in government for a global dialogue with a focus on issues of futurism, technology and innovation.

The summit acts as a knowledge exchange hub between government officials, thought leaders, policy makers and private sector leaders to discuss future trends, issues and opportunities facing humanity.

This summit would assist Lesotho to explore innovations, partnerships and collaborations to drive sustainable development goals, investments and digital transformation for entire Basotho.

Prime Minister’s envoy among others includes Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations Hon. Lejone Mpotjoane, Minister of Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation Hon.

Nthati Moorosi, Minister of Education and Training Hon. Prof. Ntoi Rapapa, Ambassador of Lesotho Kuwait Mrs. ‘Manthabiseng Phohleli and other Government Senior officials.
