Africa-Press – Lesotho. Lioli Football Club (FC) Board of Directors announced the appointment of Vuyisane Mangaliso as caretaker coach of Lioli FC on Wednesday. This follows the passing on of Lioli FC Head Coach Ntshieng Thomas Tshabalala.
Mangalizo is a South African citizen from Cape Town, he had been serving within the team as Tshabalala’s assistant. Mangaliso had on Wednesday, in a conversation with Informative Sport, said his opinion
regarding the appointment as Lioli Caretaker Coach is just simple, “it is continuity”. “I am given a caretaker role and I don’t think it is something new
because I have been within the team’s structure for some time now. Therefore, I’m continuing from what we have been doing with the late Coach Tshabalala.
Career wise it is a huge thing but it is continuity. I thank Lioli FC Board of Directors for giving me a chance to continue with the club,” Mangaliso stated.
He further noted that the appointment is not actually about him alone, but about them as Lioli FC technical team. “It is something that we have been looking for,
brainstorming what to do, I think we will continue performing a good job as a team but it is sad that we are continuing without “our leader” and “our father”
Tshabalala, may his soul rest in peace,” Mangaliso said. The new Coach of Lioli showed that the plans for this coaching season have not changed. “The mandate
of the team is still the same, nothing has changed, the only plan that we are hoping to attain is to reach the mandate of the club or even go beyond,” he
explained. When asked to give his brief background as a coach, Mangaliso enlightened that he coached several football clubs in SA as an effective coach, assistant coach and goal keeper
coach within the teams like Amavarara FC, Tornado FC, and Northern Cape Provisional FC. “The last team I coached is the Northern Cape Provisional FC, and
then I found myself in Lesotho coaching Lioli FC since coach Tshabalala had seen something in me and then I came in here, assisted him and we have been working hand in hand with him in
the team. Lioli’s Board of Directors had, in their statement, indicated that Mangaliso’s engagement will bring continuity and stability within their technical division and that will also give the board enough time to consider alternatives and decide on a permanent future plan.
