The Vocational Training School known as the Lesotho Opportunities Industrialization Center (LOIC) continues to produce and carve the choir for boys and girls through vocational training from five different disciplines. Despite the financial crisis and the challenges posed by the Corona epidemic, the school has advanced and produced 106 students.
; Boiler and Welding – Thapelo Mohale, Bricklaying and Plastering – Tumisang Makhesi, Carpentry and Joinery – Matšasa Moerane, Electrical installation and Solar energy Technology – Napo Monyamane, Plumbing and Sheet Metal – Motlatsi Mphatse.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, LOIC School Principal Mr Moletsane Jonathan described the 42nd anniversary of the school as a celebration, and said it was exciting and a sign that the school was growing.
He gave a history of the school, explaining when it was founded by the American Reverend Revered Leon Swillion in partnership with the government of Lesotho, with the aim of helping poor or needy Basotho children. it may be poverty, intellectual and other needs for them to succeed.
“It is through the co-operation of teachers that we are achieving success and it is reflected in the passing of the students who end up getting their degrees, and they likewise do not go abroad now they are going to face challenges so I have ruined “We urge you to work together as diligently and efficiently as you are taught, when one has the opportunity to work and call each other to share and share the work that allows you to do it quickly, efficiently and selflessly,” Jonathan said.
He went on to explain that the challenges facing teachers and students were the closure and reopening of schools during the Corona-based recession, with teachers even spending months which led to his dissatisfaction, and said that this was a great challenge, honoring them for the patience they had endured in the midst of these difficulties.
Jonathan said that some students thought that the teachers did not like them because they worked hard for them but eventually realized that it was just to motivate them to do their job well.
Congratulating the students on the Minister of Small Business Development, Co-operatives and Markets, Hon. He added by congratulating the teachers and his classmates.
“At a time when the world is facing an epidemic of Corona virus, jobs are running out and parents are pushing for children to go to school even though there has been a loss of jobs, on the other hand teachers and school children are also has learned hard to achieve the success we see today and is therefore proud. That is why this country can re-create jobs, go and create jobs for your country, the country’s economy will grow far ”, Mofomobe said.
Ms Mamakutselane Mpoti, who spoke on behalf of the parents, said they were proud as parents, adding that the important thing was that the school was fully supported, either by adding more classrooms, and adding more, adding that the school feeds some of the biggest in the country and that is why the government should support it.
Speaking on behalf of the other students, ‘Maletlaka Ntoi thanked the school management and teachers for their patience and support and during their study under the unusual conditions of Corona.
“We are making you proud of our parents, we will show you that your money has not fallen into the air like a dog’s sweat,” Ntoi explained.
