The visit was made after one of the volunteers in the village approached the LPPA, encouraging them to create an education program that could help local youth.
LPPA Spokesperson, Mr Tlali Matela explained that his institution is happy that young people in Lesotho can have a bright future, and they are giving advice on challenges that make it difficult for young people to access information – their tables.
He said that was why they were interviewing them about the challenges and problems they were facing at a time when schools were closed due to the Corona virus (COVID-19).

Dangers pointed out that parents do not have a positive attitude towards their children as they take the remedy to beat their children to prevent them from getting pregnant.
He said this causes children to be dumped everywhere, as they try to hide. He encourages young people to do pig projects or grow vegetables separately to ignore the challenges.
An unnamed teenager explained that Ha-Makoatlane was facing a number of challenges, including schools far from the city, and that this was putting young people at risk, especially girls, who could be sexually abused. He said crime was high during the COVID-19 epidemic due to unemployment and poverty in the area.
LPPA nurse, Ms Makhala Raponttso, has instructed Ha-Makoatlane youths to avoid engaging in sexual activity at an early age, saying once they enter they should be aware that they are always protecting themselves to prevent STIs, unplanned pregnancies and an increase in HIV / AIDS.
Rapontso also advises parents to always feel free to talk to young people about what will happen during their growing up, such as going to puberty. “The LPPA has set up a center in Thakaneng where young people come together to talk about their problems and come up with solutions to such problems,” he concluded.
