Africa-Press – Lesotho. Royal Basco Football Club of India has shown interest to sign the National Senior Football team (Likuena) player and Bantu football star Litšepe Marabe.
Marabe has been the hope for Bantu in the previous season as the left footed winger for the team. Being one of the influential players in the squad, he has been helping the team to
constantly win the tournaments and the league games. Marabe was recently the captain of Bantu when he got an invitation to join Royal Basco of India. He
started his professional football career with Matlama and then later joined Bantu where his good performance allowed him to play in the other neighbouring
countries which include; Botswana where he was playing for Uniqo Flamengo. Bantu’s favourite also played for South Africa’s (SA) United Football Club.
Marabe’s footprints will be remembered by Amatšo Matelebe following so many things that he achieved while he was still on their side. Marabe won four trophies with Bantu, won four independent tournament trophies and one
trophy for Lesotho National Insurance Group (LNIG) tournament and Vodacom Soccer Spectacular. The football star became the player of the season twice, Players’
player of the season twice and also obtained the Golden boot twice, Marabe achieved all those wonders whilst still serving Bantu. In an interview with Bantu Communications and Media Manager
(CMM), Bokang Phasumane confirmed to Informative Sport that Rayol Basco has approached Bantu management requesting the services of Marabe. “Rayol Basco
showed interest in our star as they requested him to join their team in India, Bantu management reached the final decision to allow the boy to join the
overseas team as to offer the platform for our players to get an international exposure,” said Phasumane. Phasumane added; “Bantu still had contract with Marabe but we
find it worthy to allow our player to join the better team which will be able to extend the footprints of the local talent while also offering good basic
salary. We read the contract of the Royal Basco to verify if its legit and we allowed them to sign the player. We pride in having representation overseas and
this is a sign that we are on the right channel to make our players recognised internationally,” he said. Bantu CMM also stated that Marabe is finalising some documentation with his agent and he will join his new team in India after they have sorted all the requirements.
