Africa-Press – Lesotho. About 10 suspects aged between 22 and 39 were nabbed for possession of gold bearing material and alleged illegal mining during Operation Vala Umgodi and are reported to have appeared at the Secunda Magistrate’s Court and their next hearing was scheduled for April, 9th.
According to a media statement by the South African Police Service, an intelligence driven operation was carried out by the combat team at Evander Mine in Secunda after information was received about illegal mining activities at the sports ground near Embalenhle.
