Africa-Press – Lesotho. The first person to receive electricity through the rural electrification project in Mokema says her life will never be the same.
Mrs. ‘Mahlompho Lillane, who is partially blind, said having electricity in her home is a true blessing, as it will now make it much easier for her to move around the house safely.
Her house was the first to be connected to power in Mokema by the Prime Minister, Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane, and the Minister of Energy, Mr. Mohlomi Moleko, during the official handover of the project on Friday.
The project brought electricity to four villages: Mokema, Ramaqhanyane, Ha Liile, and Ha Lekete. It also covered key public facilities, including Ramaqhanyane High School, Mokema Primary School, the local chief’s office, and Mokema Health Centre.
