Africa-Press – Lesotho. Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has released appointments for its administration from Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) in the Presidency and Secretary General positions.

According to LeFA statement that was released on Wednesday, LeFA President Advocate Salemane Phafane Kings Council (KC), First Vice President Khiba Mohoanyane and Secretary General (SG) Mokhosi Mohapi have been appointed

to serve in various CAF Committees representing the Southern zone. The football fraternity is further informed that; “LeFA President has been appointed to serve in the CAF Committee for Legal Affairs

and National Associations while Mohoanyane will take a role in the CAF’s Developmental Committee for Futsal and Beach soccer and Mohapi getting an appointment to be a member of the CAF’s Organizing Committee for Interclub

Competitions and Management of Club Licensing respectively. ” “The appointment to serve in the CAF Committee for Legal affairs comes just a few months after LeFA President was elected to serve in

the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Disciplinary Committee. He is also the Chairperson of the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Appeals Committee; he is a member of the COSAFA

Elections body,” reads the statement. It further noted that Mohoanyane on the other hand has been re-appointed to serve in the CAF Futsal and Beach Soccer.

He is also a member of the COSAFA Organizing Committee for the COSAFA Competitions. “The LeFA SG is one of the two longest serving MA SG’s together with the Eswatini SG.

He is one of the pioneers of Club Licensing to Lesotho, a feat that saw a number of our clubs move from being amateurs to semi-professionals. He is now part of the

Africa’s Elite Club leaders, which include among others Dr. Irvin Khoza of Orlando Pirates Football Club (FC), Mahmound al Khatib the Al Ahly FC President

and TP Mazembe FC Moise Katumbi as well as a number of elite club Presidents across Africa in the 17 Member Committee. He also serves on the COSAFA Legal

and Statutes Committee,” the statement further noted. LeFA SG Mokhosi Mohapi has on Wednesday told Informative Sport that to be appointed in the international body is always an honor

to him because competition is something that he likes, adding that the biggest competitions to him are the international competitions. “Most importantly I

feel honored because I am among the first group of people who have done implementations in respective associations. In the African continent, to me this appointment comes through circle because I am still serving in the COSAFA

Legal and Statutory Committee and therefore, to be appointed to CAF Committee takes me closer to the horizon,” Mohapi said. He showed that this appoint is going to help him a lot

because there are some other things that he is not familiar with in as far as the club administration committee is concerned, saying it is a perfect opportunity for him to interact with the committee, learn from it and come and

share ideas with his people. On the other hand, LeFA First Vice President Khiba Mohoanyane said his experience earned him this appointment. He said the re-appointment is

going to help to improve his work in LeFA administration. He highlighted that because of his membership in the CAF committee, LeFA will also improve and

expand. “The first step forward would be talent identification and to start creation of beach soccer pitches in different parts of the country. I think this initiative will be helpful to us

in a state where we don’t realize that we have a lot of potential along those lines that can put us on the map, rather than focusing only on football. So, that is a direction we are taking now as a country,” Mohoanyane noted.
