Africa-Press – Liberia. In a warm and heartfelt gesture, the Swedish Embassy in Monrovia welcomed Per Olsson Fridh, Director General of the Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) during his official visit to Liberia this week.
In a statement shared the news on its official Facebook page, the Swedish Embbasy said the Folke Bernadotte Academy, Sweden’s agency for peace, security and development, has been a long-standing partner in Liberia’s journey toward lasting peace and democratic governance. During his visit, Director General Olsson Fridh will engage with government representatives and key partners working in FBA’s focus areas, including security sector reform, rule of law, and youth, peace, and security.
Over the past two decades, Liberia has made significant strides in strengthening peace and democracy.
While Sweden continues to be a steadfast partner in these efforts, the FBA is gradually concluding its operations in the country.
Director General Olsson Fridh’s visit underscores both the progress made and Sweden’s ongoing commitment to supporting Liberia’s peace, security, and inclusive development, notably through continued bilateral development cooperation.
During the visit, Director General Olsson Fridh also met with colleagues at the Embassy of Sweden in Monrovia, further cementing the strong partnership between the two countries.
