Africa-Press – Liberia. Believers Eastern Church (BEC), Diocese of Monrovia has marked the first anniversary of its ministry in Liberia with a grand celebration held at the Monrovia City Hall.

The event commemorated one year of pastoral service and community engagement since the Church officially began its mission in the country on January 12, 2025.

The anniversary celebration brought together senior church leaders, government officials, diplomatic representatives, community leaders, and well-wishers, underscoring the Church’s growing spiritual influence and trusted presence within Liberian society.

The official program opened on a solemn note with the singing of the Liberian National Anthem, symbolizing unity and national thanksgiving.

This was followed by a time of prayer and reflection led by Dn. Fr. Sanjib Ghorai, who dedicated the gathering to God and invoked divine guidance for the Church’s continued mission.

A formal welcome and recognition of dignitaries was delivered on behalf of the Diocese of Monrovia, acknowledging the contributions and support of church leadership, government representatives, diplomatic missions, and development partners throughout the Church’s first year of ministry.

A major highlight of the celebration was the presentation of the Annual Report by Rev. Fr. Sachin Pakhre, Country Leader of Believers Eastern Church Liberia and host of the event.

In his address, Rev. Fr. Pakhre outlined the identity, vision and mission of Believers Eastern Church, presenting a comprehensive overview of the Church’s spiritual growth, community transformation initiatives, institutional partnerships, and outreach programs implemented across Liberia.

The report presentation was complemented by the screening of a one-year ministry documentary, which showcased the Church’s impact in various communities through worship services, educational support, character formation programs, skills and vocational training, youth development initiatives, and compassionate outreach.

The Presidential Address was delivered by Geevarghese Mor Makariose Episcopa, Archbishop of Africa, Believers Eastern Church.

In his message, His Eminence emphasized that love for humanity, rooted in the love of Christ, remains the foundation of Christian service. He reminded the gathering that human beings are the crown of God’s creation and encouraged both the Church and the people of Liberia to live out Christ’s example through service, compassion, and care for the vulnerable.

He also acknowledged the vision and legacy of His Holiness Moran Mor Athanasius Yohan of Blessed Memory, whose missionary leadership laid the foundation for the Church’s work in Liberia.

His Eminence conveyed blessings and prayers from His Holiness Moran Mor Dr. Samuel Theophilus and expressed appreciation for the dedication and sacrifice of Rev. Fr. Sachin Pakhre and the missionary team for their commitment and integration into Liberian society.

Ambassador of India to Liberia, Manoj Bihari Verma, also addressed the gathering, expressing appreciation for the Church’s efforts in family empowerment and social development.

He congratulated Believers Eastern Church on its first year of impactful ministry and reaffirmed his goodwill and support for future initiatives.

Additional goodwill messages were delivered by representatives of the Mayor of Monrovia, the Ambassador of Sierra Leone to Liberia, and Senator Momo Cyrus of Lofa County.

The speakers unanimously commended the Church’s contributions to education, youth development, women’s empowerment, peace building, character formation, and national unity.

Rev. Fr. Dr. Daniel Johnson, General Secretary of Believers Eastern Church, delivered words of felicitation, describing the Church’s first year in Liberia as an extraordinary journey shaped by divine grace and committed service.

He encouraged church leaders and members to continue serving as agents of positive change within society.

Further remarks were offered by church leaders, pastors, and invited guests, all expressing gratitude to God for the Church’s visible impact within a short period.

The celebration concluded with words of appreciation to all dignitaries, partners, volunteers, and community members whose presence contributed to the success of the event.

A closing prayer and benediction were pronounced by Pastor Joshua Nador, followed by a love feast that fostered fellowship and unity among participants.

The first anniversary celebration stood as a joyful testimony of God’s faithfulness and marked a strong foundation for the continued growth and mission of Believers Eastern Church in Liberia.
