Chris Geeplay Weah and Cassell Kuoh have agreed to collaborate with a call on stakeholders to put their differences aside and work as team in the interest of football to unseat the Liberia Football Association (LFA) president Mustapha Raji in the impending 2026 elective congress.

There has been skepticism on whether both men could have collaborated following claims and counter-claims about an internal conflict and differences between the two. However, in their collaborating message, Weah said despite their individual differences and ambitions to head the LFA, they have decided to collaborate for the greater good of football.

Weah said that both him and Kuoh have significantly contributed to sports in Liberia, stressing that they approach the 2026 election in unity and clear commitment to change and develop football in the country.

Weah, who indicated that Liberian football is in decline largely due to the significant failures of Raji, called on all stakeholders and club presidents to join the team in their endeavor.

Said Weah, “This is not about who will head the LFA; it is about working together for a common goal. Mr. Kuoh and I understand this, and we are dedicated to working as a team to prevent the current president from seeking an unprecedented third term.”

He added, “This collaboration is unprecedented in the history of Liberian football. We have never had a president attempt a third term. By coming together, we send a clear message: it is time for new leadership. If the current president chooses to run for a third term, he should know that this collaboration is a game over.”

In a brief remark, Kuoh confirmed teaming up with Weah to defeat the current administration in the LFA 2026 election, stating that they have the willingness to transform Liberian football for the better.

He said change means substituting one thing for another and it is the time to substitute Raji for the collaborating team, emphasizing that the current administration is steering Liberian football in the wrong direction.

Accordingly, he said that they are determined to change that for the good of the Liberian people.

“This team has the willingness to transform Liberian football for the better. I’m urging all stakeholders to get on board. As you can see, Chris Geeplay Weah and Cassell Kuoh are now part of the team. We are united and aiming to defeat the current administration in 2026,” he said.
