Africa-Press – Liberia. The College of West Africa (CWA) will go head-to-head with B.W. Harris High School in the final match of the 2024/2025 Inter School Sports Association (ISSA) basketball league today, Tuesday, May 6, at the Sports Commission on Broad Street.
Both schools earned their spots in the final following impressive semifinal victories. CWA secured their place by defeating Sadia High School, while B.W. Harris advanced after overcoming SOS High School.
CWA head coach Saturday Johnson commended his team for their solid performance throughout the league and urged them to maintain their momentum.
“I’m pleased to thank my athletes for the skillful ball control and finishing touches they displayed throughout the league,” Coach Johnson said. “We have now qualified for the final against B.W. Harris, so please continue your excellent ball control and skillful finishing to realize our long-awaited dream of winning the ISSA league basketball championship.”
B.W. Harris head coach Franking Diggs described the final as a critical match for his team, stressing the importance of concentration and discipline to secure the title.
“I want my athletes to maintain their experienced ball control and finishing touches in every quarter of the final game,” Diggs said. “They must also adhere to the rules of the game, which I believe will lead us to victory and the 2024/2025 ISSA league championship.”
ISSA President Garyonleweh Zepu congratulated both schools on reaching the final and called on the respective sports directors to ensure a smooth and peaceful match.
He emphasized that the event should be a celebration of youth talent and discipline in sports, urging players and supporters to maintain order during and after the match.
